VTG -- Framed Rendition of the Cote de la Montagne in Quebec City -- Watercolor and Pen -- 1972
Description: Beautiful, unsigned, framed watercolor and pen piece. The artist's combination of crosshatch pen detail over the watercolor base gives the piece a dreamlike quality, as if the viewer were watching this scene form and shimmer from nothingness in their mind. The perspective gazes up the hill from the lower town, with the Chateau de Fontenac peeking out above the row of houses curving up the road. There is no artist's signature, only an inscription indicating the work was made in 1972, in Quebec. Inscription back of matting appears to read, "Santiago City."
Condition: The piece is in excellent condition. The lower left corner of the paper has some discoloration. There is a divot near the upper left corner. Neither of this imperfections affects the image. The frame is in good shape. The framing, however, will need to be redone. Currently the piece and matting are simply taped into the frame.
